KERRAMAX CARE™ Super-absorbent Dressings
All wounds produce exudate to help repair and heal damaged tissue. In non-healing, chronic wounds, excessive production of exudate, if not managed effectively, can be harmful, delaying or complicating wound healing.
Exudate contains many different components including water, bacteria, cellular debris and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs)1 all of which can have a detrimental impact on wound healing. A dressing is required which can effectively absorb high levels of fluid and lock away from the wound bed and peri-wound skin.
KERRAMAX CARE™ Super-absorbent Dressings offer an advanced method of absorbing fluid from wounds utilising the EXU-SAFE™ Technology built into the core of all dressings within the KERRAMAX CARE™ Dressings range.
- Locks away exudate to protect the delicate wound tissue and surrounding skin
- Locks away the transmission risk of infection and helps reduce odour in chronic wounds
- Locks away all harmful components of chronic wound fluid – especially bacteria
Indications
Suitable for use on moderate to heavily exuding wounds such as:
- Leg ulcers
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
KERRAMAX CARE™ Dressings can be used as either a primary or secondary dressing and can be folded or shaped to assist patient comfort.
Suitable for use under all forms of compression, KERRAMAX CARE™ Dressings maintain
integrity even when saturated. In addition, the dressings can reduce proteinases (MMPs) and bacteria such as MRSA and Pseudomonas aeruginosa on the wound bed via sequestration.
SOFT, NON-WOVEN MATERIAL
Either side of the dressing allows either side to be placed to the wound whilst being comfortable for the patient helping to support patient compliance with treatment.
UNIQUE HORIZONTAL WICKING LAYER
Draws up serous and viscose exudate, distributing it evenly and both horizontally plus vertically throughout the dressing,utilising the full absorption capacity and prevent unsightly bulking.
SUPER-ABSORBENT CORE WITH EXU-SAFE™ TECHNOLOGY
Absorbs and retains high levels of exudate and potentially harmful bacteria away from the
wound bed to facilitate healing and reduce the risk of maceration.
HEAT-SEALED BORDER
Prevents exudate leaking from the dressing.
Because KERRAMAX CARE™ locks away exudate, it is also effective at locking away bacteria and MMPs present in wound fluid which can delay wound healing; KERRAMAX CARE™ technology keeps them away from delicate wound tissue, wound edges and healthy surrounding skin.
3M™ Kerramax™ Careis bedoeld voor wonden waar veel tot zeer veel vocht uitkomt.
Alle wonden produceren exsudaat (vocht), ter ondersteuning van herstel en genezing van beschadigde huid. Bij wonden waarbij de genezing lang(er) duurt, kan veel wondvocht schadelijk zijn en daarmee de wondgenezing verder vertragen of lastig maken als dit niet effectief wordt aangepakt.
De 3M™ Kerramax™ Care superabsorberende verbanden kunnen op een geavanceerde manier wondvocht absorberen uit de wond. 3M™ Kerramax™ Care is verkrijgbaar met of zonder kleefrand (border) en ook in een Multisite vorm voor wonden op lastiger plekken, zoals bijvoorbeeld borst, schouder, ellenboog en lies. De 3M™ Kerramax™ Care verbanden zonder kleefrand, inclusief de Multisite, kunnen aan beide zijden worden gebruikt.
In de 3M™ Kerramax™ Care verbanden zit een unieke laag die het vocht verspreidt, waardoor het vocht gelijkmatig wordt verdeeld over het verband en mogelijk schadelijk vocht goed wordt opgenomen en vastgehouden in het verband. Hiermee wordt ook voorkomen dat vocht uit het verband gaat lekken.
Een ander voordeel dat het veel vocht kan opnemen, is dat het verband op uw wond minder vaak verschoond hoeft te worden. Dit heeft voordelen voor uw wondgenezing, maar is ook voor u prettiger. Het verband blijft droog aanvoelen, waardoor de huid rondom de wond niet gaat verweken.
Mocht u ook drukverband, zwachtels of steunkousen gebruiken, dan is dat geen probleem. Het verband kan hieronder nog steeds gebruikt worden en het wondvocht zeer goed opnemen.
Vraag uw behandelaar (huis)arts, (wond)verpleegkundige altijd om advies, maar onderstaande type wonden zouden mogelijk met 3M™ Kerramax™ Care behandeld kunnen worden:
Lymfe oedeem
Been ulcera
Decubitus wonden
Diabetische voet ulcera
Brandwonden
Drainplaatsen
Chirurgische wonden
Wisselen van het verband
Controleer het verband regelmatig. Er moet een nieuw verband worden aangebracht als het verband verzadigd is of als uw behandelaar vindt dat deze verwisseld moet worden . 3M™ Kerramax™ Care kan meerdere dagen achter elkaar gebruikt worden. Dit is echter afhankelijk van de toestand van de wond en de omliggende huid.
